NodeJs on Cygwin (win7)

Oscar Brito

1. Install cygwin with packages
(http://boxysystems.com/index.php/step-by-step-instructions-to-install-nodejs-on-windows/)
  • Python
  • Make
  • g++
  • wget
2. Execute C:Cygwinbinash as Admin and run /usr/bin/rebaseall
(with me ./configure gives me an error that c++ compiler was not found, or something like it)

3. configure/make/make install

4. run > node --version

5. Run example

The example of http://nodejs.org/
------------------

var http = require('http');

http.createServer(function (req, res) {
  res.writeHead(200, {'Content-Type': 'text/plain'});
  res.end('Hello Worldn');
}).listen(8124, "127.0.0.1");

console.log('Server running at http://127.0.0.1:8124/');

-------------------

>node <saved_script.js>
